Behind his dark glasses Justin Timberlake could be looking anywhere - but there's one shapely attraction he could be forgiven for eyeing.

Rihanna's curvacious behind, clad only in fishnet stockings, was undoubtedly the star of the show as the popstar duo filmed the video for their new single on the beach in Los Angeles yesterday.

Above the waist the Umbrella singer was the image of propriety, clothed in a multi-coloured wrap top and demure net hat. But her long legs were on display in all their glory as she stalked around the beach in cripplingly high platforms.

Justin was wrapped up somewhat warmer than Rihanna, in black jeans and a leather jacket.

There have been rumours that the two have dated in the past.

But both are now in happy relationships, with Justin dating actress Jessica Biel, while Rihanna is with fellow RnB artist Chris Brown.

In fact rather than flirtatious relations between Rihanna and Justin looked decidedly frosty as the two stood face-to-face on the beach.

But instead of a fall-out it seems the two were acting out scenes from Rehab off Rihanna's Good Girl Gone Bad album.

After a quick costume change, Rihanna then stole the limelight again as she lay on a sunbed in suspenders and a pair of 40s style sunglasses.

The loving couple are enjoying an idyllic break together in Rome after a busy year in which Justin, 27, has unveiled his spring 2009 fashion line and written songs for Beyonce.

They have made the most of the late September sun, dressing casually in denim and leather jackets while exploring the city, heading hand-in-hand to all the tourist sites.

During their break, the couple shunned the expensive bars and restaurants favoured by celebrities in favour of low-key intimate drinking holes in the city.

One Irish holidaymaker couldn't believe her eyes when she spotted the A-list couple in one Roman bar.

She said: 'The bar was so tiny and quite cheap, so I couldn't believe it when my friend told me I was standing right beside Justin Timberlake. I had to do a double take.

'We asked him for a photo and he was very friendly and warm. He asked for time to finish his drink, but happily posed with us afterwards.

'Jessica looked so different in the flesh than she does on screen, she appeared very shy and normal and left Justin to do all the talking.'

So when Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel managed to get some time out of their busy schedules, they flew to Rome for a romantic holiday.

Rather than relax on a Caribbean beach, the couple have decided on a cultural, city break in the Italian capital.

After spending the weekend together in Boston to attend a wedding of one of Biel's university friends, the couple jetted across the Atlantic in a private plane to get their fix of La Dolce Vita.

After checking into their luxury suite at one of the city's hotels, the low-key couple ventured out to see the city's designer stores and streetside cafes.

Due to the chillier temperature and rainy weather of Rome in recent days, the couple dressed in jeans and jumpers for their afternoon sojourn.

After returning from their sight-seeing, the couple were accosted by a street performer dressed as a Roman warrior.

Clearly mistaking the couple for regular gullible tourists, the man offered to pose with them for a picture... for a small fee of course.

But Biel clearly wasn't in the mood for a cheesy photo with the costumed man, leaving Timberlake to say 'no thank you' before retreating back to their hotel.

This is the second time the couple have been spotted in Europe together. Last year, Biel joined Timberlake's mother Lynn Harless in Copenhagen, Denmark and Oslo, Norway where the singer was performing.

It's been a busy year for the loved-up pair.

As well as completing another film, Timberlake, 27, has been hard at work in the studio completing his third solo album.

Meanwhile, The Illusionist star Biel, 26, has completed two films, including Nailed opposite Jake Gyllenhaal and James Marsden and providing a voiceover for upcoming sci-fi animation Planet 51.

There have been rumours of the former sweethearts pairing up again for years, but it seems that the long awaited duet between Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake is finally back on.

The former couple were supposed to team up for her last album, but troubled Spears missed her recording session with legendary producer Timbaland at his Virginia Beach studio last August.

She is also thought to have avoided seeing Justin at the VMA’s in 2007 when he attempted to wished her good luck before her disastrous performance.
